although i love the looks... having my bike lowered sucks sometimes... so im going back to factory ride height. To do so i decided instead of standard XB forks, ill be using 1125 forks. Ive been planning on making custom billet triple trees for while and instead of modifying the 1125 forks to XB triples, ive redesigned my triple tree with the correct center to center for the 1125 forks. I also decided to ditch my side mounted Storz damper (which is for listed in the classifieds) and incorporate a top mounted GPR damper just to be different. Before cutting chips i wanted to mock it all up so I 3D printed everything last night. This allows me to test fit and make sure everything is going to workout and fit the way i want it.... Also, allows me to see if i like the location of the new bars which will be renthal street low fatbars. They are very similar to the renthal RC mini fatbars i have now but a lot less rise... which i am making up for with taller risers to allow the GPR damper to be tucked under the bars and bar clamp. The new bar clamp will also house my motogaget mini speed along with LED indicator lights like my previous setup.

Very nice! One thought not sure if it would work or be what you are looking for but how about a mount off the lower or upper tree for the light instead if it on tge forks? |

thanks.... Ive been toying with some new ways to mount the headlight... not exactly sure what i want to do yet. The mounts i had worked well... but they just about touched the tank at full lock, however these new triples put the forks in the stock tuber location so that would eliminate that issue. I was thinking one design would have 2 vertical rods just into the forks that would create a rail system and then have the headlight mount to that. Im also playing with locations of stops.. Installed the 3D printed triple tree on the bike yesterday. So far so good! My new forks will be here this week so ill be able to slide them in and try it out. Also awaiting the GPR damper. So far my mockup fits perfect! and just clears the tank. Hopefully the GPR is close to the one i modeled up. I spoke with them and they gave me a bunch of dimensions which allowed me to model one up. Another thing im working on is gutting another v-rod headlight on got and doing a single HID projector in it. I wanted to double stack 2 in the oval r-rod housing which i think would look sweet... but not enough room. (Message edited by purpony on March 13, 2016) |

...always a work in progress....just when you think you've gotten to where you want to be(on one's bike)....ehhhh.....let's change the look on the "canvas" hits.....kind of figured you were up to "something" along those lines.....envy you for being able to/having access to "play around" and mock up 3d stuff.....that has got to be way way cool and fun stuff ....wish i was working somewhere to "play" with it....please keep all of us posted on your progress...as always.I've always really liked what you have done up to now with your bike....way over the top for sure....what i feel the tubers should of looked like...just my opinion. Thanks Marc. Marc Out of curiousity what is the diffrence between the 1125 forks and the XB forks? how will the 1125 forks effect you new rims are they a direct bolt in? |

the 1125 forks are slightly more heavy duty. I believe the internal cartridges are 47mm instead of 43mm. Also, the center to center on the triples are slightly more on the 1125 so when installing on an XB you need either 1125 triples or machine about 0.079" off one of the forks (i think the caliper side. This is what EricZ did) The XB and 1125 use the same front wheel and axle so my wheels will work fine. My new triple tree is designed center to center now for 1125 with a tuber offset. |

Forks will be here today so I can test fit in my 3d printed triples and figure out exactly where i want to put my stops. Material is on order, and Damper is ordered. Hopefully I can start making chips next week and get the bike back on the ground. Jumping into the wiring this weekend... seeing how much wire i can remove from the harness for the install of the motogadget m-unit, m-button, and m-lock. |

have the material and damper in hand. There was as a slight mixup on forks but all is good. Waiting on the replacements. Also slightly changed my design as well but getting very close to making chips. Cant wait to make these and get the front end back together!

in due time i will be adding another here is what the dash will look like... well really the top clamp. Will have my motoscope mini buried under tinted plastic along with LEDS. Buttons will be motogadget mini buttons with black silicon button pad. Both the lens and button pad will be under an aluminum bezel.

thanks. Happy with the way its coming out. Hope to start the lower on friday. Then I need to make the risers and top clamp, grow a mold, cast the "dash" buttons, print the LED holder, assemble, and wire. Still debating about powdercoating or anodizing the triple. |

fresh off the machine... the top post that will hold the damper lever. This will get a top plate that will have a nipple to except the vent tube off the fuel tank. Side holes will be for set screws to take up any slop in the damper arm.
