I see the ebay listing is for an X1. Will it fit an S1 all the same? or was there a difference between the S1/M2 caps and the X1 caps?

@upthemaiden: Same cap and Buell part number. So yes it is the same cap. I love mine. Fits like a glove. He did an amazing job.

Mine showed up today and I am impressed, so was Dan.
I'll be ordering at least two more.

I am over a year on mine and Gmans one from Ebay has been flawless. No readjustment or anything. I asked him to make more for yous. if you dont have one of these, I would call you a complete fool in your face

What makes this group so amazing, other than the general good nature of the members, and of course the bikes themselves, is the knowledge, capability and willingness to provide these types of improvements/solutions for plaguing issues!

I just put one of Gmaans fixes on my M2 gas cap, a few minutes work and I can now remove my cap with the confidence that it will in fact come out.

I had the problem again after several earlier "band-aid" fixes/adjusments.

Luckily I learned years ago to carry the right size allen wrench for these occasions!

As soon as I got home I went to ebay and ordered one of gmans!

After finally getting my new-to-me S2T sorted out, I went to gas up for a good ride. Couldn’t get the gas cap up. Fortunately I was close to home so I returned to the garage and, after some serious prying...it come off. It turns out the two tabs on the black plastic piece that rotates to 'lock' the cap down to the tank had swollen enough that they were getting caught on the ring on the tank, refusing to let the cap off.

I had read about the plastic piece stripping on the bolt center hole, not allowing it to turn, but hadn’t read anything about the tabs swelling.

Anyway, I took a chance and ordered member Gmaan03’s “Buell X1 Lightning Gas Cap Fix” from eBay ($45 shipped) even though I couldn’t find anyone who had fixed an S2 with it.

Well, S2/S2T owners – Yes, it works for our bikes too! A beautiful part – Thanks Gmaan!
