So my S1 popped its headlight fuse and I didn't have time to dig into it until last night. I pulled the headlight out and noticed that the plug and wire were burnt. I'm guessing that the connection was loose and causing it to arc out?

Anyone ever seen this before?

I haven't seen that sort of thing in a bike but I have seen similar things happen to a few of my beater cars in the past.
If a connection gets flakey, it drops a volt or so and will start to heat up.
Heating a thing up increases the resistance as well as makes things like springs and contacts softer.

This is called a thermal runaway.

Your headlight may have been a bit more yellow than normal while this was happening.
That would have been your only warning that something was starting to go wrong.

Also loose conection can cause Heat.New three prong female conector and maybe spread spade male three conectors for a tight conection on light.

Yeah I've seen this before as well, my XB's 77 connector was a good one. Just didn't know if this was a known issue or just shit luck. I guess I'll chalk it up to the latter and repair it if I can't find a replacement reasonably quick.
