Finally got around to painting my custom tank cover that 5-Odro imported in from Twin MC. But I had a bitch of a time laying the decals on. No idea how the factory got them to lay on such a curve. Still didn't turn out to bad. I left my old pic in my profile so you can see a before and after shot.

Hello

Try it with soapy water first, and then put sticker on already wet tank and with credit card get rid of air bubbles and such.

Worked for me

Never thought about that. After all that's how we used to put on window tint film on our cars in the younger days. If I get to many negatives on the street I'll redo them. But for now it's not bad. Thanks Paul.

Heat gun will also help or hair dryer makes the decal strechy and flexable

they had a template.

Think a cover that slipped over the tank cover.

This template had a cut out, a window. This window was in the shape of the sticker and was fit into said window for perfect placement

Think something like this but more sophisticated.

as stated above...mix up a little soaping water in a spray bottle. Spray the area, lay the decal out and slide it around where you want it, then push the water out, by hand/ with a towel, squeegee, etc and then let dry for a while.

Looks good though!!

The decals are in the same spot as original. I had the old cover right there when I applied them. Just got in to much of a hurry and didn't think about the soapy water. A couple of other riders picked out the crease's but said it still looks nice. Don't know how hard it would be to peel off and put on another set?

Planning to paint and apply stickers in the near future, after I get them properly in place should they get a layer or two of clear coat?

I had thought the same but then again the originals didn't so I didn't coat mine.
