Anyone come up with a way to reduce or stop the rattling/racket the S3T hard bags make?

Do you have the rear bumper support?

The bars around which the bags mounts clasp are a little small in diameter. Maybe that's the source of rattle? My used saddlebag subframe came with tape wrapped around the mount points. 3-6 inches of duct tape or gorilla tape can snug up the mounts. Don't get it too tight or you may agitate a fatigue crack in the clasps, I may have broken one that way. I juryrigged a fix with a U bolt.

Thanks for posting the link Ebutch. I almost lost one of my bags when the top forward mounting clamp broke.
I used a few parts and pieces I had around the garage and bolted the bags to the frame.
The 4th mounting point looks like it would help a lot.

Something new to do!

My bags are quite secure on the mounts, the rattle is coming from the loose lids,I guess I should have been more specific. The right lid is especially loose on both the leading and trailing edge, the left bag is loose on the leading edge only. When I crank the bike in a group of people (think TWO on a crowded Sunday) the bags are almost as loud as my Supertrapp. The tail section made a loud vibrating noise until I put Boom Mat along the sides.
My bike is very cold natured and needs a high idle for several minutes to warm up before you can ride away. It's a bit embarrassing when one of the BEST bikes in the parking lot sounds like it's going to fall apart.

Heck, if it's like my S1, it LOOKS like it's about to shake apart too. Not to mention that if I leave it alone on the kick stand it moves away at a slow walk.

Yea Ralph, don't look at the mirrors, you'll get blurred vision and when I warm it up in the driveway it better be parked on a flat spot or it ends up in the yard.

You got me thinking,if I could get something like the rubber bumpers that you use on cabinet doors to stick to the underside of the inner bag,to act as locaters for the lids, one on the leading edge and one on the trailing edge.I'm sure it would take a strong glue to keep them there. That just might work.

I stuck some sticky back foam in the seal by the latches and it limits the movement of the lids.I'll see how it works on the way to Suches in the morning.I wonder first if seals are still available and second if they are thicker than whats on the bags now.I guess 25,000 miles of opening and closing the lids would compress the seals quite a bit.Does anyone have the part number?

There was so much of that stuff made that I would not be surprised of a part number search revealed a bunch in stock at dealers.
