David Jayuden (Yep that guy) charged $6.00 to ship a 4 Oz clutch interlock cable, from Nebraska to NC

Does not care that he overcharged by 500%.

Just a FYI

Not to be a jerk, but you knew the shipping cost (and the high price of his goods) before paying, correct?
If its so bad then why pay it?

Shipping still takes time as well, no matter how small. But I have avoided purchases from him due to high cost.

$6.00 for a Priority Small box. No worries or issues

$6.00 for a 4 oz envelope, with a printed address. My definition of a rip off.

Seller's attitude is SCREW YOU customer

If I knew that up front, it wouldn't have bothered me. It's a hassle to pack and ship.

The extra $5 will not break my friend

Seller attitude is very telling.

The shipping price is listed on the auctions. He is up front about what he wants. If you don't read the auction, its not his fault.

Is his shipping on the expensive side? YES. A lot of times, I've asked him to sell to me and not charge shipping, and he's agreed to it.

You also need to consider that he needs to pay eBay fees, Paypal fees, deal with packaging up stuff to ship, drive to the post office/UPS/FedEx. Then he needs to deal with buyers with unrealistic expectations, scammers, items that are "lost in shipping". Frankly, I don't know how sellers do it.

I appreciate having what few Buell-centric sellers that we have left.

$20 seems reasonable for economy shipping on that pipe. I've shipped similar parts before, that sounds ballpark even ignoring the costs of packing materials and time.

I do understand getting upset about $6 for the interlock cable, I know how much it would cost in postage to ship ($1.57 first class, $6.45 Priority), but asking for $6 is not unreasonable to me. Shipping stuff takes a lot of time, from acquiring packing supplies (tapes, envelopes, boxes, bubblewrap, insulation), prepping everything for shipping, properly packing it, filling out the forms to buy postage, measuring and weighing everything, and finally getting it to the shipper.

Personally for something that is small and light I would say free shipping and just eat the costs, but that is me.

"Buell-centric sellers"?

This guy tears apart whole bikes to sell for parts.

Yeah. That's "Buell-centric" in my book....AND he's a dick.

This guy is a piece of work! Not only is Rat correct but here is my dealings with him. He purchased some parts from me all in diffrent auctions and on seperate days they ended he demanded I combine shipping in which my adds clearly say I will not unless arranged before winning the bid ( this is because I ship very quick)
My add clearly stated the flaws and showed pictures he filed a claim through ebay refusing to pay. Sayed the parts were not in working order. I won with ebay on this as he already had them up forsale using my pictures for 3 times what he paid. He still did not have to pay ebay paid me! I will have a piece custom made before I give him a dime.
That all being said shipping is clearly stated and he is not the only ebayer that charges more. You also have to remember you now pay a fe to ebay on the shipping cost also!!!!!

It ain't a "rip off" when it's advertised up front out in the open.

So what does that make your thread title, and how does it reflect upon you?

I was looking at Buell clutch ramps and he has 2 listed separately. 1 has $6 economy shipping the other is listed $8 economy shipping to my zip.....lol. Maybe the ramp balls weigh more in the $8 one.

Everyone here knows of him. The bottom line is, do you want it and/or do you need it. It is a business. I have even had him bid on parts I have had for sale. eBay used to charge a fee on just the price of the selling item but it did not take sellers long to figure out that (HEY let's just charge $1 for the item and $50 for the shipping) thus paying only 10 percent on a sold dollar amount and nothing on the shipping. Now they charge on the item cost AND the shipping. If you really need it, most will pay anything and if you do not, wait or make it your self. Ebay takes 10% off you for the item and then Paypal is separate now so there is another fee. Just decide what you believe in and what you need and what you think is fair and proper. CHEERS, this is a great site. I still use eBay and Craiglist all the time. They are just sources to an end. This is still easier than trying to find bike parts as opposed to back in the 70,s or 80,s.

$6.00 for a 4oz envelop is outlandish.

Maybe not s ripoff as I posted in the title. He put a short cable in a used 8x10 on envelop, slapped an eBay mailing sticker on it 4 ox total weight, and has no componctute about charging $6.00.

Overnight USPS priority box, yes $6 is reasonable.

His response to email about shipping cost was smart assed.

How one chooses to invest one's free time can make all the difference.

Choose wisely.

It's very easy to fall into a rut of looking for things to complain about. Instead, count blessings, for they are many and amazing. At a minimum, avoid contributing to the negativity and ill-will in the world; instead look to the light, always be the bigger man; be gracious and charitable, and always thankful for the blessings you enjoy.

It's something I have to remind myself of too.

Thanks for the input Blake

Appreciate the wisdom.

It is hard to remember that not everyone is as well intentioned as the majority of the members on this forum
