like the title says, is this possible? I am always planning and have wanted to do an xb wheel saw since I bought my bike 5 years ago. I have seen so much mixed information online that I honestly am not really sure which way is best at this point. I read some rumors that it may be possible to swap the legs over, but i couldn't find anything definitive.

Does anyone know if this is possible It seems like would take care of several problems with either using an xb triple or having to try and make new spacers and a brake caliper bracket if using the stock x1 fork lowers.

Purpony could answer tjis but I think The width between the forks would change then the wheel would not fit correctly. You can press a tuber stem into an XB triple, you can modify an XB stem, you can buy a conversion stem, or you can make custom triples. Note you will loose your tuber speedo if it is drove from the front wheel.

your asking is you can put the XB lower fork legs into the XB tubes, correct?

If so then NO... I was wondering the same thing years back and took apart my XB and X1 forks side by side. No go.

If you want to do XB wheels, the best bet is using complete XB forks.

2003-2004 (and all year Scg) XB forks will fit into your tuber triple tree like S1owner did. Will need to run handlebar spacers or go with clip ons. Of Swap to XB triple tree with some modifications.

Ill be listing my XB modified triple tree shortly for sale as Im making my billet triples right now.

Purpony, out of curiosity with the XB triple is the ride height the same as stock? I thought i remember reading in the thread about the new front end you were doing it was because you wanted the bike at a normal height?

And thats too bad about not being able to swap the lower fork portion as that would have made the swap much easier and I would have been doing a fork rebuild in the process...

Ride height will depend on where you set the forks in the triples. Mine is almost the same. But I have an LSL top XB triple which allows the bars to run somewhat behind the fork tubes sticking up. If you put the fork tubes all the way in the top triple it will sit higher then you want,
FYI I have XB triples with a modified XB stem.

You can see in this pic how high above the top triple the forks are

Im going back to sock ride height because i had XB Scg forks on my bike which are the OEM lowered XB forks. I originally had standard 03 XB forks, then went to Scg forks, now 1125Cr forks.

With an XB triple and Standard length XB forks, your bike would be just about the same height as stock.

Ok, cool. It's funny how much confusion there is when you try and search about his through google. My overall plan is to disassemble the bike in the near future, powder coat the frame, do the xb wheel swap, and build a new motor for the bike.

Time to start accumulating pars.

If I am not over stepping I offer a little advise. Have a solid plan with everything you wish to do aquire all the parts and knowledge then execute.
I ended up tearing mine down a couple times because a did not do everything that I wanted and regreted it.

Marc is a wealth of knowledge also

S1owner, That is great advice for anyone really. That is exactly why I didn't just do an engine build when I had the chance, why i am painting my current wheels for the moment instead of powder coating them, etc., etc.

It sucks when you tear things apart over and over again.
