Turning a 2001 M2 into M2L sport touring. 1st replaced front forks, rear shock, seat and kick stand to M2L bits. Then mounted Shad SH43 side cases using modified Suzuki GSF 1200 Bandit brackets from Shad.

... and without side case pics. Brackets are attached at four bolted connections and can be removed in 10 minutes.

NICE!

Am I the only one who wants more info on the "1939 Dodge pickup that brought home the Buell"?

Any trips planned?

S1 & Ebutch - Thanks and pardon the crappy welds. They aren't pretty but held my full 205 lb. weight while bouncing without moving.

1313 - I've only been on two test camping trips (to Suches & Lake Oconee in Georgia). I chickened out of riding to/from Daytona last week for my kid's spring break. I need to hook up with other Geogia Buellers.

1313 & Blks1l - Below are a sampling of truck pics. The truck was resurrected from a field in 1991 and has been being modified ever since (except being neglected since bringing home the Buellage in November).

Nice looking truck, wasn't expecting the FI motor, is it turbo charged also?

Blks1l - Yes, the truck is turbo'd with intercooled Volvo HX52 mounted under the cab and controlled with Megasquirt III. It has a five-speed-manual transmission, severe traction issues and cornering is flat scary. It's hot, rumbly and quirky with few creature comforts, like a tuber Buell.

That truck kicks ass!

I need to hook up with other Georgia Buellers.

Some of the best Buellers I know. Well, ALL Buellers are nice, helpful people...

Congrats on 2 great rides!

Love your old truck!! but i would like it with a good ol Flathead V8!!! as they say Real V8's don't have valve covers.

Thanks fellas.

I must agree that flathead V8's are beauties, way-cool & simple

The M2 will look more Uly-like when a top case is mounted (or maybe more midget-Uly-like).

I'd like to see someone mount Shad SH36 or Givi V35 side cases on an M2 as their shapes would fit the look of the Buell much better (but not carry near as much stuff).

Added a Shad SH45 top case that can hold (barely) my full-face, XL Bell helmet and armored riding pants & jacket. All camping gear fits in side cases except tent poles that will be strapped to the front of the top case.

Added S3 fairing and took it for a ride. +60 mph is much more comfortable with much less wind buffeting.

Nice work!! I have roughly the same but I have the S3T bags and fairing also. I was going to try it with S3 lower fairings also but haven't found the time or mounting hardware yet.

What a nice job on the Sport Tourer! Do you have plans to change/modify the seat? I find it difficult to go more than 90 miles before I have to get off the bike. I've tried a sheepskin, and I have an Air Hawk on it now, so I'm curious if you're going to do something.

I am using a stock M2Low seat with no pad. My hands give out before my arse in about two hours. Bar end weights helped a bit. Will be trying S3T handlebars soon. Then maybe the arse will be the limiter. I am looking for another 30 minutes or so in order to make it reasonably comfortably between gas stops. Any seat changes for me will have to take into account a 29" inseam with chunky thighs.
