This is the first time I noticed the similar design cues between the S2 and XB models. Look at the lines/curves on the tank/airbox. Very close to the same. Kinda cool! |

Lakes, a Barton Square Four. Erik ultimately purchased what was left of the company. http://yorkshireferret.blogspot.com/2012/02/barton -motors-sparton-phoenix-and-more.html |

Blackm2 thank you!! very interesting. when i saw the HP & TQ & at the 10,000rpm i knew it could not be an xr750. the old two strokes were simple & the disc valve to control intake was good as could advance or retard intake timing who raced the the Buell 750? and thanks again. |

Lakes ,there where only a couple test rides. By the time the bike was ready to race and approved that class where it supposed to race was skipped. Man it would be nice if you could have a read in the 25 years of buell book! |

Lakes... Erik raced the first RW750 in the Formula One class of AMA. The first "sold" Buell RW750 was campaigned by American Machinist Union Race Team. That was would be the 1984 season. The following year, AMA discontinued the Formula One class. Thus ending the RW750 bikes. BTW...it's the best photographed bike I've ever seen.

And done with actual film, back in the old days when this stuff was ***hard***. Getting a picture like that was a major effort in engineering, physics, and chemistry (even if you outsourced the chemistry). And the inspiration for one of my favorite Buells, the XB9SX. |
