So my Buell 'S' collection is about to be completed by the addition of a S2. This bike was originally Danny's bike. He sold it a few years ago and it was most recently in the care of Lance (Mhlunsford).

When Danny had the bike, it threw a bearing in the bottom end. He had the motor rebuilt at Modesto Buell/Ducati. From my email conversations with Danny, it was done right. S1 crank, NHRS pistons, Millenium Tech NikaSil coated cylinders, Thunderstorm heads with Screamin’ Eagle valve spring kit.

To help all the breath better, he installed a Wes Tek header with a Super Trapper muffler.

I've been around Buell's for 18 years. And this is the first time I've heard about a Wes Tek header.

Somebody please "school me" on this odd piece of Buell aftermarket history.

Thanks!!!

Oops....one place said Wes Tek and another said West Tech. Either way, I'm not familiar with an exhaust from either.

WesTek was Tim . . back in Topeka.

He never did an exhaust that I am aware of.

I still have the first ever "lowering kit" prototype sitting here somewhere from the "thinking about it" stage.

Roger (Screamer) was the one that told me about the Wes Tek exhausts. To my knowledge they were custom headers with Supertrapp universal mufflers included.

I'd suggest Rogers info is accraute.

You could always call Bruce Zimmerman at Topeka HD and get the details.

That would make some sense. The SuperTrapp is a "car muffler".

The build on this bike was a labor of love by Danny and Fly’n Don Babb at Modesto. If I was a betting man, I'd put money on the fact that I've seen this bike before in person. Hell, I probably had a beer or two with Danny.

I'm guessing Screamer will chime in before too long.

I have a WEST TEK brochure that shows a custom WEST TEK header (304 stainless steel) that uses a stainless steel WEST TEK muffler....

My brother has one on his bike, I'll try to find a photo. They are kinda rare.

You can kinda see it in my profile pic, just under the tail of my bike.

I sent (I think) photos of exhaust ads and articles and photos of some spare exhaust systems, to Ross last year. I don't believe I still have the photos, but I can find the Westek ads either tonight or tomorrow night.

Dennis - Congratulations on getting an S2! Will we see you in June? (It's been awhile...)

I do still have the photos in email and meant to post them, I dropped the ball on that but I will try to get them posted soon now that I remembered about it.
