New to forum thinking of trading my suzuki tl1000r for a 2001 buell x1 only issue with the x1 is that it will idle but you cant get very far when riding. The guy says he has the ecm spy cable and he tried mapping bike but it has the race ecm. He said he put it back to stock. Question is what can i do to get this bike running properly. Anyone have a copy of ecm spy. I am not computer friendly so sorry about dumb questions. What maps can i use or can the race ecm even be mapped.

I have a 2000 X1 with the race ECM.
I have used ECMSpy with it and it is pretty neat.
However, my bike had a similar issue where it would idle fine and even get down the road a short ways, but would eventually lose power and die. My fuel pressure was low and it turned out I needed new pressure regulator o-rings.

Check the throttle-body butterfly post.They do Break and newer ones are larger dia. much stronger if that's the case?If broke will idle but stumble badly when you crank open Throttle.
