@Littlebuggles – it was pricier than the baseline quote, due to a hairline crack on the mainshaft and a few more worn parts than expected. Let's just say that this would put me 3/4ths of the way to a good deal on a Baker 6 speed. That said, the transmission now feels a lot more like a gixxer than a harley. Like night and day. |

Well, I got her out in the sun today after work. Started cleaning from the front tire back. Haven't quite finished as you can tell by the back wheel, but getting there.

Took the S3 out this morning and cleaned it up and then promptly got it dirty again taking a ride down HWY 1 to Monterrey and back. Looks dirtier than when I started. It been a while since I took a nice ride, mostly due to being out of work, but it has been wet here for months. My back driveway was slick as snot and has some moss growing on it. Little slippery leaving, but coming home down the hill, the front wheel wanted to slip out from underneath me. Just happy to get some seat time and enjoy the sun while it peeks through. For some reason I cannot get my pictures off my tablet... |

"Airbozo, photos typically have to be reduced to post. " Problem with the tablet, not the photo's (as far as I can tell). Working on recovering it now. They wouldn't even sync up with my Onedrive folder. Just those photo's too. I can open them on the tablet, but can't edit or move them. Glad I got seat time in yesterday since it started to rain early this morning and we have over 2" so far. |

I turfed my 'driveway'! Just over 2 feet in length...
The weather was so nice at lunch that I came home, picked up the S2 and took it to get inspected. Since it had been so long since I had ridden it I guess I just didn't have the finesse to get it going. I felt it spinning so I pulled in the clutch and rolled off the throttle and gave it a little more relaxed go and was successful. It's weird comparing what was 'normal' to me over 20 years ago, to what 'normal' is today. I had forgotten that you really sit into an S2, and for some reason it seemed like a longer reach to the bars than I remember. The bark from the race exhaust was still grin inducing, but the regular exhaust noise on decel took a little while to get used to again. It's interesting how much easier it is to ride later Buells (and EBRs) than the S2. I partially attribute this to sitting in an S2 versus sitting on the later bikes. Yeah, that myth about quicker throttle response with fuel injection is just that - a myth! 1313 |

I didn't know know there was a myth about quicker throttle response with fuel injection. It's certainly the opposite. Carbs have a direct mechanical connection whereas even with cables, fuel injection adjusts and responds to multiple variables with the throttle position, and flat out takes longer. |

NONONO!! You guys have it all wrong! Fuel injection is as good as it gets, it never fouls up, never has a problem, is easy to tune and is a path straight to godliness..... |

Hey John, The header is polished. It will turn gold as soon as I fire the engine the first time. The cam cover and primary are chrome. |
