Eliminates all the slop and rattle of the boomerang. Also no rubbing against the inside of your calf. SteveH | ||

Is there a noticeable difference in feel between the two? My S1 with the boomerang shifter has pretty sloppy feeling shifts, I assumed it was just the gearbox. Also another random thing I've been wondering, on topic so hopefully I'm not hijacking the thread by asking... I've seen steel and aluminum boomerang shifters, does one feel more solid than the other, or is it just a difference of weight savings? Pontlee: The one difference I heard is that the X1 shifter had to be different so it could clear the belly pan, so that was one of the reasons it was redesigned that way. | ||

I think i'll try fitting the boomerang, as the one right now interfeers with the magura slave cylinder, i do have an S3 lever that is close to the X1 so i can experiment with it to see if it can clear the slave cylinder, if it does work, i'll then work on the x1 lever. Thanks for all the help. | ||

There's nothing wrong with the boomerang as long as you keep it tight and keep good bushings in it. | ||

Not that I'm aware of. Also, I think the shifter change was in 2001. They're hen's teeth for X1s and S1s. | ||

On my M2, I ran the boomarang shifter, the 2001 shifter, then the banke setup. IMHO, each step helped noticeably. None really helped enough to make it a slick shifting transmission. So do the upgrades if you want, but don't expect them to transform the bike, and don't feel dumb if you decide to just stick with the stock setup you have. Proper fluid, primary chain adjustment, and cable adjustment made the biggest difference in my opinion. | ||

The magura XB can be fitted you have to take the primary cover to a machinist to drill a12mm hole, put a screw that's Hollow, and has where to screw the magura and that piece be1cm out side of the case to compensate, the 1cmmlonger slave cylinder shaft, in cant post pics here but if you PM i can send pics. I did use the 2002 lever just mived it out one cm and used a treaded rod because the screw was to short | ||

I have seen the early xb shifters are compatible with the X1 and S1 as long as you get the correct legnth bolt. | ||

Thanks Pontlee. I was referring to installing the Magura hydraulic clutch kit to a tuber. I think they were only designed for XB's but it looks like Pontlee is onto something. | ||

I did get the XB version installed, now i need to ride, if you have the boomerang stile shifter, doing what i did will be fine but having the 2002 shifter i had to make a spacer to move the shifter 1cm father out to cleaar the magura slave cylinder. |
