OK, I'm re-entering the tuber world. Life/family issues caused me to shove the M2 and the Norton in a corner and just ride the Road King for the last 2-3 years. I don't know how much gas was in the M2 but it has all evaporated. I know I will have to clean the carb thoroughly but what would be the best chemical to wash the gas tank out? Or should I just fill it with gas and wish it well? Also, has anybody used an aftermarket petcock? I use really nice Custom Chrome petcocks on the Norton. Maybe those would work. I just don't like that plasticky petcock. I have an aftermarket intake I cound put on but I don't think I want to deal with the spooge can. Any opinions on modifying the stock air box, like putting a cone filter on the stock elbow? I've read all the threads over the years, just looking for some input. | ||

I've had good experiences using Sea Foam to clean fuel systems. I finally pulled the trigger and put a Forcewinder on my x1 and I couldn't be happier. The look and the sound is well worth it. I can't say I really notice a difference in power over my K&N in my stock breadbox, but supposedly it's there. As for the "spooge can", I fit a steel braided line to mine and actually like the look of it. I need to empty it every now and then, but that's better than it "spooging" all over my leg and shoe whenever it pleases. | ||

A quart of sacrificial gas might be enough. "shaken, not stirred." It would be a good idea to take apart the petcock as that's most likely where boogers would be. | ||

A pingel petcock with connection plate is a nice solution ,maybe bit expensive but they work good. | ||

If you need a new petcock the originals were Acerbis and can be had new for $20. The best chemical to douch out your tank would be gasoline. | ||
