Ok found a Buell race ecm finally. Questions are once I stalled do I need to reset throttle positon, also with the race ecm would it rub better as in do I need to download a fuel map in top of that as well? I have a stock motor Vance Hine pipe and xr2 air cleaner

Yes, you need to set the TPS offset value any time you replace the ECM or mess with the TPS itself, and periodically due to shaft wear/sensor drift.

The map in the race ECM is for the Buell race exhaust (pipe and can) and the Buell race air cleaner (Helmholtz resonator removed, venture ring installed in its place, and K&N air filter) but I think most people find it to be close enough for use with any other aftermarket exhaust and intake. DDFI2 isn't all that sophisticated. Getting it any closer to 'just right' for your equipment may not be worth it.

I once used a race ecm on my x1 with vance&hynes

Result : broken piston ( rear cylinder )

After rebuilding the engine i got new ecm mapping . The new mapping showed me my buell did run very bad with the race ecm.

I didn't have much success with the Race ecm and V&H canister on my X1 but it works great with the Race Exhaust or my titanium Wileyco.
The Race ecm/V&H combo made it pop and vibrate like crazy so I sold off the V&H can.

That's interesting. What broke the piston? Holed it from a lean condition? Something else? The race can is a perf core, straight through. Can't get much more flow than that. I would think the race map would be rich enough for anything short of an open header. What's unique about the V&H?

@Dutch_x1 did you switch to the stock fuel mapping or go to something custom?

I've been running race maps on my stock ECM, with V%H and FW intake for the past 15K miles with no issues. The AFV is always within +/- 5% from the 100%. I only made some minor changes in the fuel maps to improve idling. The bike idles perfect and pulls like a freight train from idle to red line. Too lean condition was probably caused by other factors, but checking the AFV regularly is a good proactive indicator if the bike is running too lean.

Well I had the race ecm installed, and tps reset by shop. At first the bike felt like it was choking, when ever I take off or down shift to hit a corner and tried to drive normally it will bog and shake..so I switched plugs and gaped them correctly still the same issue, went for a 75 mile drive, now that issue is gone my problem now is that at full open throttle when the bike hits 4500rpms is like it's hitting the Rev limit is just cuts in and off but if I gradually hit the throttle it will go past to 6500rpms this is all done in the highway speeds not short roads the motor did not get hot but I did hear it ping a little when I took off at a few lights last night. Mechanic too busy to look at it today. Anyone in st.pete, tampa fl area that delt with this issue before and has ecm spy can look at it? Willing to pay of course

How was the bike running before you changed your ECM with the race ECM? If it was running fine then there might be something wrong with the new ECM. The symptoms you're describing imply something not right with either the unit or the fuel maps. Or the TPS was not done properly. Based on my personal experience, the stock race maps should work fine with your intake/exhaust set up. You really need to have access to ECMspy in order to figure all this out.
