How do you remove old decals when prepping for new paint?
Any other pointers are appreciated too.

3M has an adhesive remover that will not hurt paint. Check you local auto parts store. It works slow and requires patients but it works.

Pretty sure the decals (stock) are under clear coat.
I wouldn't think that would work in that situation, would it?

No, I was thinking raised letter logo. I believe you would just sand off clearcoat and decals As part of paint prep. I'm not a paint guy but I'm sure part of prep is sanding and filling and sanding.

I'm a big fan of the newer raised logos. Easy on, easy off, 3D, great look.
