The white 1991 RS1200 I got from Maryland last month has "a bushel of leaves" inside thanks to alcohol gas.
The rest of the bike is pristine considering her age, 24 years and just shy of 10k miles.
Nelson took VERY good care of her.

I am going to hook up a temp tank and get her running, then cut out the bottom and go inside.

Any tricks, sealant brands etc that are known to work will be helpful.

By next Summer, I want this bike to be a solid weekend rider.

It isn't so easy to get a perfect end result with these buell fuel tanks.

I've read good things about a POR 15 product, no personal experience.

Do not screw with any of the DIY tank sealers. You will regret it if it's not 100% perfect. And don't cut it open

When I finally get around to doing my Westwind's tank, this is where it's going. They do top notch work. Somebody else on here had a Westwind tank done by them.

Checked their prices...they seems VERY reasonable. Do they use the same liner for fiberglass/plastic tanks?

A little off subject but if any of you ever need to seal a metal tank skip the DiY not saying its bad but any good radiator shop can clean your tank including old coatings boil it and seal it correctly.

The last time I was in that shop, he had three different products he used, for different types of tanks. They cure like a polyethylene dirt bike tank, inside your original gas tank. It doesn't cure rigid like the other off the shelf liner materials.

All I can say is to call them. They have an oscillating rig setup to put abrasive in the tank and slosh it around mechanically, to clean the old surfaces before coating. They do amazing work.

Kind of a bummer. The owner used to do custom and restoration paint work but, the tank lining side of the business took off. He doesn't have the manpower or physical space to do both anymore. He was rescuing a Triumph X75 Hurricane tank the last time I was in there (also fiberglass).

Greg, thank you for that link.
They look to be the solution I was hoping to find.

Sent them an inquiry.
