I leave the drain plug in so I don't have to remove my muffler.

I just stick an oil pump made for putting lube in a boat outboard lower unit in with the derby cover off and pump it out.

Ken, from the service manual:
14-21 ft-lbs
19-28 Nm

I usually stick to the low side with no issues.

For which bike? An XB?
If memory serves the torque values in the manual were wrong and too high, lots of folks stripped them..

I think it's the same as they Uly:
Drain plug: 60328-98A
O-Ring: 11105

My Uly manual says 29-31 ft-lbs but that sounds too high.
I think the new spec is 12-16 ft-lbs.

Those O-rings are nothing special.
Get one and bring it to lowes/homedepot and get a 10-pack for $3

My dealer wanted $5 for the damn things!
