I have a 1998 S3T I picked up and the previous owner changed the body work from red to black and in the process removed the head light. But when he reinstalled it he used silicon to secure the metal clip (missing must have damaged them) and rubber bushing to the fairing mount. Well I need to replace the bulb since the low beam is out what would be a good replacement for those mounts or a custom headlight that is easy to replace? Thanks

The assembly should be a standard automotive size. I converted my S2 years ago to a Hella E-code housing with H4 bulb; recently I upgraded that with an H4 HID bulb.

Rat,

The S3 headlight is smaller than the S2 headlight...

S2 = standard automotive size!

S3 = not so sure...

YMMV,

They have 3 metal clips with a threaded rubber mount that clips in the fairing mount that the adjusting stud screw into. I will try and get a picture

IIRC, the only way to get new parts was to buy the entire headlight assembly which includes the adjustment screws and clips. It's been a few years since I had my S3, but I believe I was able to rig the mounting screws using some "HELP" parts from the local auto parts store. I'd suggest you give them a look and see if you can find some parts that will work.

S3 is not replaceable by a Standard Automobile head lamp assembly

The Adjustment screws are part of the housing.

St Paul HD and Al at American Sport Bike have them in stock

Any H4 bulb will fit. Might not want to exceed 65W on the bulb, for fear of melting the OLD wiring harness.

Yep, I know the S3 has a smaller light than the S2.

S3 might be these:

I converted my 91 Dodge Daytona (pop-up headlights) to these years ago. Getting ready to do the HID upgrade as well.

I'll try and get out and measure my Defender headlight...
