The easiest thing for you to do is to find a "race use only" ECU.
Avoid the add-on fuel things like power commander and the ilk.
They usually do more harm than good.

I can't say for sure that they can, but everything that I've heard suggests that they can get you the ECM you need...

I'd contact IDS and see if they can hook you up.

Please let us know how it goes,

I will never use a race ecm + vance&hines again.

Tried it once : piston broke because it was running to lean. $$$ : (

My x1 did get a new ecm mapping after i rebuild the engine . Runs PERFECT !!!

Did you keep the race ecm and did a new map or put the stock ecm and had it remap??

yes it can.
but i keep my hands from a ecm since i don`t have experience with mapping a ecm and i don`t want to ruin my buell.i live close to twin motorcycles (netherlands ) and those guys know exactly which fuel map a buell needs.

check this website , might be a bit closer for you than the netherlands : ) :

Some of the owners with '99 X1 have reported issues with reprogramming the stock ECM. Don't know the details but something to consider. I have the same exact intake/exhaust set up on mine and can send you fuel maps from my '00 and talk you through loading them in, assuming you have the software and the cable. May or may not work depending on your ECM model.

Get hold of a copy of ecmspy and megalog viewer and you can learn to make your own maps, that what i did on my 99 X1.
The ecmspy tuning guide available here http://ecmspy.com/tgv2/guide2.shtml will guide you through the process. MY x1 now runs smooth, no flat spots and 100% afv. The race map runs lean but the ecu see's this and adjusts the maps to the correct fuel ratio, plus 17% more fuel in my case.
Once you get your head around it, its quite addictive.
