Hello, I'm having no luck sourcing a rear exhaust strap (the one that goes around the can) for my S3T. Mine has snapped one of the straps. Davidjayuden has this one on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buell-X1-M2-S3-rear-muffle r-hanger-band-bracket-USED-1999-2002-/281460638270

I'm in Canada, and don't want to pay his $50 asking price plus $45 shipping.

So, is there an automotive equivalent to this strap? Creative solutions?

I think no one should buy from him ever!
My thought is get two seperate straps and attach that way. Bring your clamp in and see if you can find the right size

I just bought two for a Supertrapp on my S3 from MSC supply. MSC Part #: 74512740 14.99 ea. ( American Sport Bike didn't have any listed on their website, but that doesn't mean they don't have them ). I think it would fit a stock can. If not just wrap a string around the can and bracket, measure the wrap length, divide by Pi. There are other diameters listed on the MSC website.

Side Note: I've bought stuff from Davidjayuden. Some think he's this, or that for trying to make money selling used Buell bike parts, I look at it as simply keeping a stock of hard to source parts available for the enthusiasts. I'm free to shop for the best price, but if I want it RIGHT NOW! and he has the only one on the market RIGHT NOW, his pricing doesn't seem so bad. If I don't like the price, I wait for another seller.

Thanks for the tips! I've got a few leads, and I think a part is soon on the way.

I have bought a couple of items from Davidjayuden in the past, but $100 for a muffler strap is too steep for me!

Is there someone that would be willing to make the straps? I'll pull mine off my S3T for a pattern if someone wants to reproduce them......

I have two of them Dave. Told Ed I would sell him one for way cheaper than what he found.

They're just straight stainless straps. Get some flat stainless, bend it around your muffler, measure to the hangar, drill a couple holes.

I'll measure this out before I mount it - just in case. I plan to ride this S3T a lot. I love it for some reason. My RC51 has been sitting since I got it!

And thanks again Jeff!
