Could have started out as any tuber, or just a pile of tubes. If it was a tuber, it's been extensively modified. Looks like it's rigidly mounted, in the back anyway.

Really love the Look of that frame, but at my age couldn't ride it more than about 10 minutes!

The engine does appear to be rigidly mounted front and rear. Seems like it would have been easy to retain the factory isolators with this basic frame design; I don't get the point in omitting them.

I wonder if the "gas tank" is actually a gas tank; it looks like it could barely hold a gallon. The engine is un-muffled, but there's something under the engine where the stock muffler would be. Maybe that holds the fuel, as well as the battery and other accessories?

What kind of frame is that? A turd frame? How do you say turd in Italian? That turd makes Erik cry.

It's amazing that somebody can start with something supremely cool, then actually spend money and time, creating something that misses every single performance target. How can you design something that is inferior in every, single way? That takes a special kind of talent.

  • It's not lighter.
  • It's not more stiff.
  • It doesn't look better.
  • It doesn't vibrate less.
  • It doesn't add more room or any other comfort metric.
  • It doesn't carry more fuel.

I don't get it. If they wanted a tuber, any factory produced tuber is cooler than that thing. If they wanted minimalist, they started with that when they took apart the XB. If they started with a wrecked XB and wanted to do something with the remaining parts, that ain't it. That bike belongs in the thread with that Buell bagger.

Well the idea isn't that bad.
If you have the remains of a totaled xb (and there are lots of em these days ,because they write them off for only a tiny scratch
Why not do something like this ,it looks much better as some garbage chopper!

But yes they better had used the front and rear isolators and Heim joints to!
I would have done it with a tail ala S1 and a manta style fuel tank in a bit modern style.
And also a good performing exhaust!

I have a 96s1 and a 09 1125 CR. the xb's and 1125's boil the gas with their gas tank wrapping around the engine. I can't help but think the tuber engine will run cooler and longer than an XB. the XB engineering with; oil in the swing arm, suspension and braking remain intact. An XB/tuber is the best of both worlds!

Looks like trying to make the frame look more Ducati, it's in Italy after all. Since Ducs are balanced (90 degree v) they don't have the isolator mounts, so the maker, going for the Ducati look, omitted the rubber-mount. Didn't realize his mistake until he rode it, I bet!

the point is it is what they wanted or ended up - does not have to make sense to anyone else. Who is missing the point is a perspective.
