I have two 2000 Buell M2's with the original shocks, is it possible to still get a free replacement under the safety recall, and if so what is the procedure. Thanks in advance! Gary |

Some will tell you that yes you can by law but I have seen several folks try and be told it is not going to happen. let us know how it works out if you go to the dealer and try to get it done. |

It can't hurt to ask your dealer. I was able to get one for my 2000 S3 but that was ~10 years ago. |

Make sure you go to a Harley Davidson dealer that supports Buells. Not all do. That will be the difference if they even consider it. |

I recently had mine done on 11/04/2014. It was a previous Buell dealer. It would have cost me $1428.02 if it wasn't covered under recall, still have the invoice. |

Thanks for the replies, does anyone know of a good Buell / HD dealer in the Cincinnati, Ohio or Lexington, KY area? I know one of the bikes was purchased new from East Gate Harley in Cincinnati. |

Give the Lexington H-D dealer a phone call, they can let you know. They used to be a Buell dealer, when located off of New Circle Rd. The new shop is just off of I 75 now; exit 102? Sorry, don't have the phone number. |

Thanks, I have never been in a Genuine Harley shop, so I don't know a good one from a bad one. I am a little over an hour away from any of them. |

My HD dealership Zylstra HD here was not a Buell dealer but are a great help to me so it depends on the people themselves. But I am also licky enough to have St Paul HD close also. |

You guys are great!! I will make some calls Monday, a lot of co workers use the Man O' War Harley, and there are two other Buell Service Providers in Cincinnati. I thought we were basically on our own for service on our Buells and it gives me great piece of mind that there still is a network out their for us Buell enthusiast! I will update you after I give these guys a call / visit. Thanks again. Gary |

Powder keg is near me in Lebanon (near Kings Island). They were a Buell dealer and had at least one Buell savvy guy at the parts desk. Eastgate is where I got my M2 done back in the day, so they can do it then. They screwed me a little too, they had a replacement in hand (they claimed) but it mysteriously dissapeared and they had to get another, so it took too long, but they did it. F&S (or whatever they are called now) up in Dayton near the airport used to be fantastic for Buell, but it all went to hell when they built the new building... |

Like Court said, don't give up if the dealer tells you "no" or blows you off, give HD Customer Service a call. They may "grease the rails" with the dealer. |
