OK, you are not going to believe this….. Two years ago I bought 1995 S2 #817 – I am the forth owner and it came with all the signature series documentation EXCEPT the cover. Owner # 3, who had the bike for around 5 years said he never got the cover from owner #2. Fortunately, the bike came with all the registration documentation since new. So I knew the previous address of the original owner who bought the bike in Houston, TX, and the second owner that bought it in 1997 and brought it out to California. So, when I got the bike two years ago I sent letters to owners #1 and #2 on the long-shot that one of them could possibly still have it. Never heard from the original owner, but owner #2 said he THOUGHT he got it when he bought the bike in 1997 but had not seek it after his move to California in 1998 – 17 years ago – but said he would keep my email on the promise that if it ever turned up he would send it to me. Well, I just got an email from him this morning – he found it in a travel bag he used for Sturgis back in 1998, and he’s mailing it to me today! | ||

FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! A LOT better result than the last time I tried to line up the Signature Series Timing Cover for a friend's S2. Original owner (also a friend of mine) still has the Signature stuff - but does NOT want to sell... Here's hoping he cracks sometime! 1313 | ||

Inspiring story. I may have to try to track down my bikes original owner. I am the fourth owner though so it may have been lost anywhere along the line. | ||
