Ah, ok - don't have any of those on my S3!

I have a great source for High quality bolts for the engine and chassis that are also polished.

They might be able to help you.

Seems easy enough...

I gave a cheap, quick option. Seems easy enough.

I don't have a good alternate source for the torx screws, so I always ended up getting a few spares to have on hand when I got some other part from my local HD dealer. Prices were stupid though.

I restored a '72 Kawasaki Bison, and I used (to keep the look of the bike) pan head type phillips screws in stainless, which my local hardware store had a nice supply of in a matte stainless. I bought a handfull in many different lengths, and a few nuts to fit them so I can put the nut on it, run over to the vise, and cut a longer one down to a shorter length I need (backing off the nut to clean up the threads) if I am out of short ones when I need one.

I liked it so much I am doing it on a 78 KZ-400 I am restoring as well. They just look cool, and the phillips head keeps me from over torquing them when I am too lazy to walk over and grab the little torque wrench.

I also bought a "big bag" of UJM hardware from ebay bike breakers. Like $10 for a pound or two. Not sure if those are out there for Buells, I hope not, but they may be.

I had to go look at mine to remember what you were talking about.

Don't believe the local hardware has that exact bolt.

Google "Button Socket Head Screws 1/4"-20" if that is the right size.

Took me a while to figure out the correct name for the search.

There are a lot of options for specialty fasteners but my dad works for MSC so I tend to ping him if I need the name of something.

Add "msc" to above search is sometimes easier than using their search:

Hope that helps,
Robert

I couldn't find TORX bolt heads either, except at the dealer, most of mine I wound up replacing with hex head.
I have my take-offs, if you tell me what lengths you want, if I can find it you can have them, maybe for postage I guess, you're all the across the continent...

Sorry, I didn't pick up on the torx.
I looked at my M2 air box and it was hex.

Sorted for torx 1/4-20:
http://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tn/Fasteners/Bolts -Screws-Cap-Screws/Socket-Cap-Screws?navid=1210878 0#navid=12108780+4287874820+4287781927+4287782158

Although, did not see stainless in torx.
