Hi, new member here...
I can't remember the name/manufacturer of the conventional/compression-type shock that used to be available circa early 2000s.

They used to come with a link that went from the swingarm to a crank at the front shock mount to operate a standard-type shock.

Anybody know? I'd search it if I could remember what it was called.
Thanks!

Could be! It definitely looks like the rig I'm trying to find...

Wilbur's doesn't seem to ring a bell, but hey, I'm the one who's lost his memory

I truly appreciate the help!

If that's your bike, how do you like the shock set-up?

Cool; thanks again. Doing a search, I see there's a decent amount of chatter about them, and that a similar product was indeed offered by Hyperpro - the name that sorta stuck in my head. Searching Hyperpro, prior to asking about this, turned up a bunch of pull-type shocks though, so I figured I was mistaken.

Still a bit salty; I was hoping to maybe find a used unit for less than ~$1800

Not very complex to build but there is a ton of force and if something shears it could be deadly.

I admire his pluck.

Making all of the bracketry a la Wilber's and/or Hyperpro wouldn't be out of reach for me, but I'm not too interested in doing that stuff anymore.

While simply acquiring a shock may save some money, I suspect that I could buy one of the current aftermarket shocks from American Sport Bike for a similar price.

In a former life I was a suspension tech, but I'm not interested in chasing down valving and spring rates anymore either if I were to source a used shock from something else. I was just hoping to find a bolt-on rig and it looks like one of the current pull-types might be the way to go.
