01 x1 i need the lenght of the shifter shaft between the shifter lever and the shifter knuckle where it attaches to the shaft. please thank you ..it turns out that they are impossible to find so i need to come up with a new alternative thanks guys

i believe that one is for the boomerang shifter??? right i need it for the other style.

Measured 2, both are 4 5/8in, bolt center to bolt center. The top part, interestingly enough, measured 4in on one, 3 5/8in on the other.

The top part is p/n N0506.01A1, rod, shift linkage.
The entire assy is p/n N0617.01A1, rod assy, shifter linkage.

If you haven't already done so, you can give a dealer the p/n and they can do a nationwide search, in case someone has one sitting on the shelf.

And, all HD dealers go through Vintage Parts (HD exclusive) for out of stock items. Works pretty good too.

That also looks an awful lot like an XB linkage...in case an alternative is required.

i will look into that and others, i know that i need the shorter xb linkage , the short one is 4 inch and the other one is 5 1/2 inch so it should work and i see that the knuckle is the same. thanks

Fyi if you can get the part nimber of the XB linkage it might be available through HD or vintage still
