I'm changing the gaskets on my s3 over to cometic metal top end gaskets and do not have the torque sequence info. I know it is 3 or 4 steps and ends up around 40 ft lb. Does anyone have that info?? Also what is the preferred way to lube the head bolt threads engine oil or anti sieze? Any help greatly appreciated. |

I would use light oil, not anti-sieze. I only use anti-sieze on exhaust. Torque I would go in to 10 then 20 then back off and go from 10 to 50 in 10 increments. Not spec, but should be good. I think the manual goes to like 30 and then a 90 degree turn. |

The way we do it IIRC is 9, 15, 23, 35, 42. I could be wrong on the numbers in between but the first is 9 and the last is 42 ft/lbs. Definitely use light oil on the head bolts. |
