Last week while in southern CA, I stopped at the Garage Company in Inglewood. On a table was an RR 1000 frame being mocked up. It had no markings on the steering head and Yoshi wasn't saying much. Anybody know what's up with this RR 1000?

Pretty good idea.

But . . it's a guess at best.

No tease.

I don't know . . . I> really don't.

Pal just sold his RR-1000 for just shy of $50K and I would not be surprised to see someone popping body parts off it. . . . . I'm not sure what "mocked up" means.

There are . . . . as al alternative theory . . . some NOS RR and RS frames hidden away . . .perhaps they've gone for my idea of building 18 - 2015 RS/RSS's.

Who knows.

Not a fan of the orange tupperware look, but naked?

Gives me shivers.

By mocked up I mean, frame with partially assembled motor, none original front fork, with tire. No rear tire. Some pieces laying around the bike, on the table. I know that he has had the frame for several years. It looks like it is powder coated. I thought that it might be a pre-production race frame, as it has no identifying numbers on it? Yoshi indicated that he got it, in boxes of parts. That he had body work, but I seen none. He is missing some parts.

What engine did they have in it? XR1000?

Any idea if he has any of the ACT parts for it? Or doing a resto-mod?

XR 1000 motor, I did not get the serial number. I did not see any of the ACT system, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't in a box somewhere. My RR does not have the ACT system, instead it came with the 42 mm Endurance racing, quick change fork.

What are they going to do for the cast engine mounts? That rear mount is insanely complex. I'm assuming it's the same between the 1000 and 1200.

He has that and the swingarm. He is missing the axle, but I have a spare, that I am providing for him. I believe that the cast engine mount for the XR 1000 engine fits the XR and maybe 4 speed trans motors only, but don't quote me on that.

Yeah, that was my guess as well on the mount. I wasn't going to bug the guy but, maybe I should pay him a visit. I'm bound to know stuff he may need/want to know. I have a 1000 tank but the carb bump has been cut out of it and repaired with fiberglass (made into a 1200). That's likely the tank that will end up on mine when it's done.

Yes, I think you should, he does have some questions, that need to be addressed. Besides I would like to know more about the bike!
I come out to CA, almost every February and I will not be out again until next year, unless I run at El Mirage in September. Family in Northridge, would like very much to see your collection, while I am there, Brian.
