Currently have a carbon fiber circular filter cover on my Mikuni HSR42 equipped '97 S1. Looking into replacing it with something else. I like the forcewinder types, but also wouldn't mind a more traditional looking chrome type filter (even a standard type Sportster oval). Just wondering about good Mikuni 42 plug n' play options that satisfy the following requirements:

1. Not so big they cause my knee to bang on it. (current filter is about a 5-6" dia circle and that's ok with my knee)

2. Does not require a separate oil vent tank (i.e. want to retain the oil recirculation system into the intake).

3. Hopefully doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Any and all advice appreciated.

If you have the Mikuni CV style air cleaner adapter and a carb support bracket, you can use most any HD air cleaner you want.
