Author Message   Motrhead Posted on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - 12:27 am:        Hi guys,I've only had my X1 Lightning for a few weeks, but I am really loving it. However, my shock is bagged and leaking. I would like to know if the 16.5 inch center to center is as measure installed on the bike, or off it? I think I am measuring around 15 inches center to center with the shock on the bike. Does that mean the shock on my '99 has been swapped already, or is that the installed length of the 16.5 shock?   1313 Posted on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - 06:33 am:        Visual inspection/comparison per this image should be able to reveal the truth. From what I have read, the longer shock can potentially break into two pieces, so there is a reinforcing kit to prevent it. The shorter shock does not break.
