Anyone make decent incan turn signals that don't cost an arm an a leg?
I bought some from cycle gear and they are total crap.
Not interested in LED, just some good incans.

what's wrong with the stock ones?
or put a different way - what are you looking for that differs from stock?

If your looking for incandescent bulbs I would say stick with stock Buell turn signals, like X1 or XB style, the shape fits almost any tube frame bike.

if you are looking for outstanding very well made, very bright LED (I know, which you are not), I would recommend Zepto turn signals, I've got them on two of my Buells and they are extremely bright and very well made. They look outstanding on and S1!

by the way, I quit buying anything from cycle gear after only one experience....

Like Jolly I have LEDs.

If the reason you don't like them is because they are dim or flash to fast, then you just need to spend more and get the good ones.

As you found out, incandescent lights can be junk too.

I have Rizoma turn signals that included the required resistors and are plug and play - plus they are very bright and look cool on my S3!

These can even be seen from the sides and back.

Turn signals are pretty generic, meaning almost any one made will work. LED ones will need that resistor, or that special flasher. I still running the stock ones, with a Kisan flasher replacement to make them into running lights. But it's too weak of running lights, so I got some 3 wire 1157 bulb type, will have to splice them in. Haven't done it yet. Incandescent bulbs.
We have to have red in the back for running lights, it's a constraint that eliminates a lot of choices available.

True - almost any one made will work, but only good ones work well....

I was in the same boat. My S1 didn't have signals installed on it when I bought it. I wanted something that was inexpensive, but not junk. I ended up picking these up from American Sport Bike

They look and work great. No complaints, especially for <$14 a pair

I did a full write up on the zepto turn signals when I installed them on my first s1.... A write up for turn signals????? ..... Yeah it's because they are that cool! They are the absolute brightest turn signals I have ever seen and probably the best made.

The wiring from the signal itself is like a small headphone jack for easy separation if you have to remove them for any other bike MX. That runs to a small postage stamp sized circuit board for controlling the signal, these have an option to use an extra power wire to function as running lights and they are programmable for steady, slow pulsing, medium pulsing to flashing as running lights.

No extra flasher or load banks required

When I wired mine up I used expandable braided wiring sleeve to cover everything.

They are really great lights!

If you can't find the write up, PM me and I'll shoot you some photos that I saved.

They Zepto really look great. Unlike Kellerman, they even come in red.
Just the psychological barrier of $200 for turn signals is really the hurdle. Only pay it once I suppose. Well, until I lay it down again, then another pair for $100.

You can take the orange filter out of the stock X1 (or XB) turn signals and fit an orange bulb (careful to check the bayonet pins are in the correct position). They work just the same but look darker when not in use.

Speaking of the turn signals, does anyone have any suggestions for a good turn signal/running light combo?

The Kisan I put in is unsatisfactory, perhaps because of my Dyna Twinfire coil. The turn signals are so erratic I just don't even use them. For example, hit the left turn, and 4-way flashers come on. Turn signals won't turn on, or won't cancel if they do. Since 99% of my riding is daytime, I just don't use them for signaling turns.
I have a Badlands Buell Illuminator I was going to replace it with, but decided to splice in 3-wire turn/running lights instead. Got the lights, but haven't done it yet.

What brand did you get? I'm looking for a good set but don't seem to find many options. Thanks.

I think its really just a generic chinese set made for Harley, I got them off ebay. I prefer black, and inexpensive, and CA requires rear running lights to be red, the red was the hard part. I can't remember now if they were LED or incandescent though.
If it wasn't these it looked just like them:
