I am using S3T bags on a conversion rack on my S2. the bags fit very well and even the turn signals sat in the pockets in the bags without issue if the signals were moved to the aft holes in the tail, no mods required. when I switched from the white body work that came with the bike to the blue body work I am using now the turn signals didn't fit in the pockets of the bags any more. I am guessing that the license plate mount sub assembly was bonded to the tail about 1/2 to 1.0 inches to far aft. to use the bags I needed to move the turn signals even further aft, there is a sub assembly kit that comes with the conversion rack to move the turn signals aft, however that part of the kit is no longer available so I had to make my own. I made these two triangle shaped tabs...
had them powder-coated..
and installed...
I wanted to clean up the turn signal mount post and wires someway and noticed that my 2000 Triumph Sprint ST has the turn signals relocated when the brackets for bags are installed and they came with nice little formed rubber boots to clean everything up... Wire nut shroud Triumph part number: A9700099 Cost: $2.10 ea
and now the bags fit without deforming the turn signals

Looks like a great design solution and some top shelf fabrication work! |
