I have a puncture (diameter = 1/8 ~ 1/4") on final drive belt with 16 k miles, and rode another a few hundreds. Replace is too expensive and early (I have a spare and do know Goodyear is way to go.). Pic is coming tomorrow. When do you expect it to snap?

If I were to guess, without seeing the photo, I would say....300 miles from home at 07:30, Sunday on a beautiful isolated back road.....

the worst possible place!

good luck!! it would be nice to know how far you can push these without failure I suppose....

Had a similar wound once, snapped a week or so later at the La Bella's Pizza down the street from my apartment at the time. Put the spare on and get a Goodyear on the way ; ).

I did, another time, have a belt snap 200 miles from home, at my buddy's house in Oklahoma. But that one showed no signs of wear that I know of.

Rock chip taken out of belt is shown on the belt for clarity. I guessed another thousand miles should be fine...

With the S2 being one of the easiest bikes to change a belt on, why risk it if you have a spare?

I will be able to make only a few hundred more miles before bad weather begins here (I ride only on weekend). I want to spend the last minutes on riding, not on fixing. I will change the belt while snow is everywhere. I hope it works.
