Hey Guys, Names Chad. Welder/fabricator in Ga and the owner of shop102. Was curious about a swap I have heard about. I friend of mine gave me an S1 ECM and I was wondering if it would swap to my X1. Heard it has a better map. Cheers |

S1's were not fuel injected. You may want to try to search on the Buell part #. |

The "ECM" on the S1 is just an ignition module, whereas the X1's ECM is...well...an ECM. Maybe he gave you an S3 ECM? if so, they are identical to the X1, including the maps, assuming you have the same map revision. There were not separate maps for X1 and S3. Same model year engines are identical. |

Hootowl is correct, but you can use the S1 module on your X1. It will not, however, do a thing for your injectors. The only map it contains is for spark curve, you will have to install a carburetor. Mikuni 40mm works well with these motors; you will need a Sportster manifold. The wiring will be custom and leave several unused. |

Gotcha....thanks for the input. Need to triple check the part #'s. Much appreciated |

Or you could get really creative and re-install EFI. Throttle body, head temperature sensor, injector-carrying manifold, and dual-fire coil can be replaced. A fuel pump would also have to be re-fitted into your tank. You can do without the kickstand and bank angle switches, many of us bypass them anyhow.
