With the chain drive and sprocket sizes I run, the adjuster blocks had always ended up almost completely forward. I decided to leave in one extra link which should have had it close to all the way back in the axle slot, but I had forgotten that it isn't possible to go all the way back! How irritating that the last 1" of adjustment is there for decoration.

I get the frustration but remember the bike was designed for belt adjustment and specific gears. When we mess with it we accept the reprocussions.
I am a belt guy so i dont know this but do the make a half link? I know for the custom bmx bikes i build they do?

Buellistic, this is a 1" raised rear suspension setup with a 1" extended swingarm. The chain slack runs about 2.5."

Anyway, I made it work with some minor mods to the endplate.

No half link. Interesting. Never heard of one before.

We used the half link on the boys race bikes (bmx) had same issues frame would work with X gears but not others the half link allowed for precise adjustment. Just did not know if there was a sim product for motorcycles.

You can get half links for British and European chains, but the Japanese don't make them for theirs, I don't know about American chains.
Clive.
