...if your Cyclone (M2) is a M2L??

We just picked up a second Cyclone for my wife. When we test rode it, we both noticed that the seat height is lower than mine. It's got a corbin seat on it - which I understand drops the height an inch or so, but it doesn't feel like that's enough to account for the total difference. She's excited about the lower height as she can get her feet flat on the ground at a stop. I just want to make sure that nothing's been done to the suspension that's out of factory spec.

Look at the VIN if the 4th letter is K it is normal if an L it is a low. Another way is the shock # or the kick stand will be shorter on the M2L. Rear shock, front shocks, kickstand, and seat will be the determining parts. Please let us know what you find.

The kickstand will be shorter as stated above, just put a M2L kickstand on my X1 instead of cutting my factory one.

I've already got a service manual for my 99 M2 and he has a manual for the 01, so if there is any difference between them, I'll have both books. I do all the service that I can - my book is well dog-eared. Just didn't know how to tell - for sure - if a bike is a 'low' model.

The fourth digit is "L". That makes me feel good - guess we got lucky and found one that fits her well.

When I rode it, I noticed that the 'turn-in' when leaning into the curves felt different. Between that and the obvious difference in height, I want to make sure no one had messed w/ the bike's geometry.

Can't wait to get the new bike home tomorrow. His-n-hers Buells in the garage!!

The bike is immaculate - only 7500 miles. I'll post pics up once we get it home

Check tire pressures prior to making any assumptions or adjustments.

Sounds like you have a winner on your hands (wife AND bike) check it over well and you'll be rewarded.

Er . . . the bike!

: )

Thanks for the tip, Court, but I was already there. Tire pressure's the first thing we check once we pull out of his driveway, tomorrow!

Years back, I was riding home from work pushing the bike thru a clover-leaf at the junction between two highways. Thought something was wrong as the bike was handling very poorly. Got home to find out I was down to 10 psi on the front tire. Couldn't believe that I didn't roll the tire right off the rim as hard as I was hitting that curve.

Lucky boy, I am - in more ways than one!
