The prototype had this style stand. It does have its risks as there is leverage pulling on it with this. My thought was to support it best as possible. When in my garage i will not have it on the stand this should minimize the issue.
Joe have you had any issue with your side stand?

No issues no leaks. Its only used to hold bike up when parked. I never sit on the bike on its side stand. XB series have side stand attached to the primary. I made my stand from scratch from chrom moly tubing.

By the way I still have the S1 frame I also have an X1 frame and this M2 frame this M2 unfortuanately has no title I have a BOS if I want to go through the hassle. But my plans are to swap everything to the x1 frame. Sometimes i make way more work for myself but I loke it.

The battery tray looks good ,but maybe you could have made the rear pan mounted with some small bolts!?

Could of done the bolts and I did think about it but it is where most of the electronics will be and it will be excessed from under the seat.
My S1 had bolts to hold the stainless pan on worked ok but the bolts sticking out always caught my eye wrong.

If I have to do it on the side of the road or on my only transportation, yes. If I'm doing it for fun, or to add/fix stuff on a project, no. I actually find it relaxing (though also tedious and chalice-building. I've done a lot of it for custom computer builds and such.

Some non sticking isolation band and there over some cotton wiring tape like used on the later xb,s ,or only some small black pvc isolation tape in two or three layers.
