Will an earlier version seat for an S3 (with the front "horn" like on an S2) fit a later model, 2002, S3?. which year of seat is actually more comfortable? Will the earlier model seat rub the tank? I'm just looking at different seat options for my 2002 S3T

I have a Corbin from the earlier model and it fits, not perfect but it's hard to pick..

Personally I prefer the stock seat as I like to get as far forward as possible when I'm playing..

I put an early seat on a 99 because I liked the looks of it better than the late seat.
I eventually took it off and kept it off because the late seat was more comfortable when it came to spending long hours in the saddle.

As mentioned they will both fit, and they both rub the tanks in different spots. I have tried both styles and ended up with the later style Corbin.

I like the looks of the early style, but it is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever ridden on (and I have an S1). The later seat is much more comfortable to me, but I also have an early style Corbin which has the early look and is very comfortable.

I believe what folks are calling here the "later" seat, was actually marketed as the "touring" seat when the S3T was released...

Ratbuell,

that would explain the title "sport seat" with the other model seat?

I'd like to try one of the "sport seats", earlier model, on mine.

The "later seat" was put on all S3s starting in 99. Prior to 99, all S3s had a smaller seat (S3 and S3T used the same seats). Buell also made a pro version of the later (99 and up) seat which I have heard is very good, but I have never had a chance to try one. I did try a later style Corbin, which has to be the ultimate S3 seat for comfort. My Corbin is based on the early style and I like it a lot but there are definitely mixed opinions compared to the later seat.
