Ok, who has had some experience with S3/X1 fuel pumps ??

I've tested this one 4 times and it's only now showing the issues consistent with the symptoms I'm getting...

It's inconsistent, as in it will run up to 55+psi for a burst and then drop back to less than 10... I'm thinking it's been on the way out for a while as low or rather not full fuel pressure will give the symptoms I was chasing before.

Any ideas on the inconsistency ?? Regulator issues ?? I have the pump out of the tank, there was a bit of dirty water in there but not what I would think would be enough to cause issues.

To add to the mix, the other tanks pump will fire up to full pressure when I turn the ignition on, then switch off but then wont run, as in I'm guessing it's not getting the signal from the ECM to restart it.

I'll explore both the signal and pump/regulator issues later but info from anyone who has been down this path would be appreciated...

thanks

update.....

It looks like the lazy fuel pump has taken out the ECM... or at least the signal to the fuel pump.

Change pump = no change but the pump was consistent.

Change ECM and I have signal to pump and it will run..

Now to the tuning stage..

On a side note the US spec ECMs I have give trouble codes related to the voltage, BAS and IAT sensor. Whereas the japanese and Aus ones don't.... weird stuff. I'll explore that at a later date when I have time.
