Anybody know the correct size valve stem for the early PM wheel? It looks automotive style.
Thanks,
Kevin

From my 1996 S2T Parts Catalog, Rear Wheel, Page 46, item # 12, Valve Stem
43693-94Y

Front Wheel on Page 44 is the same part #.

In my 1999 X1 Parts Catalog, both Front and Rear Wheels are the same part #.

When I had my PM wheels clearcoated, I pulled the stems and brought them to NAPA. They found a replacement size based on my old ones.

It's the same as a cars. And usually you want to get the shortest stem you can find. So it doesn't move and stress as much as a longer one does on these bike wheels and it makes it just that much easier to get an air chuck on that sucker for air pressure maintenance. I have a normal car stem on mine right now and on my Zx10R i have the same stems and on my Dl000 i also have these stems. The reason i like regular stems at 1.5" long is i can just pull it side ways to get air into it easy. Short gives more room.....But i like to check my air a lot and its easier to do with a longer flex-able stem. I change these stems out every time i do new tires......There only good for 6 years!
Here an original stem on the wheel.

Here is a small bolt on stem that also works. Really doesn't matter just your taste.

I tested the different stems to see what i like and a stubby car stem with a chrome sleeve on it and a chrome valve stem cap looks nice! But thats me and my taste. I like a little black there on the wheel to compliment the tire?!?!

Thanks everyone. I picked up a pair at autozone for $3.00 and all is well.
