The front brake line on my 96S1 has narrow metal tubing that eventually expands out to regular size rubber tubing. I bought a stainless front brake line and it is all regular size. will this have any effect on braking performance?

Will it be easier or harder?

No difference other than it will be a bit less spongy. The rubber part expands a little when you grab a handful. Hold it and squeeze the brake before you remove it and you will see what I mean.
