I was going to buy new pads tonight but.. I was getting just a little confused about fitment.. Is it true that the pads for a 2000 X1 fit all the bikes below? Both F&R

That doesn't sound right. I have not had a ZTL system, but I wouldn't think that 2003-Up would interchange with 2002 and earlier because they are different calipers in front.

Rear, I would not be surprised.

And actually, the 1997 fitment does not sound right either for the front.

It's company practice for many places to have a single order number for multiple parts, in this case brake pads, and then they give you the correct part based on the make, model, and application you tell them (front or rear, etc). I would think that's what is going on here.

list just didn't seem right.. And I got it from dennis kirk...

Yeah, they are definitely NOT the same lol. I had a ZTL front end on my last S2 and the pads and all were quite different.

That's what I ended up doing.. I just gave up all the information about the bike.. I have a week or two wail I'm waiting for the paper work so I'm trying to get to know the bike a little better..

The 1999-2002 series tube frame bikes have many common parts, as a matter of fact, as long as you remember the M2 remained carbureted, you could even say they share most common parts.

XB rear brake caliper is the same as the 99+ model year parts too.

That list might be for rear pads only. I know those span a bunch of years and models
