I'm just about to install the barnett clutch plates I got from American Sportbike.. Can I use Syn3 with this clutch?

Yes the answer was in FAQ section of the service tab on Barnett's website:

Q: Can I use synthetic oil or a synthetic blend with a Barnett clutch?
A: Yes. Barnett clutches are designed to work with any type of “motorcycle specific” oil. We DO NOT recommend the use of automotive oils or additives

For those that do not have the BIG BUCKS for a "BARNETT CLUTCH" you can do a PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT on your OEM CLUTCH which removes the SPRING PLATE(aka GRENADE PLATE) PN 37977-90 ...
