Hello guys.
I am new in buell family, I recently bought S1 but it has a minor flaw.
Neutral light is still engaged, no matter which gear is set. What do you think it could be?

Really appreciate every post.
Have a nice day

Neutral switch. Behind the secondary drive front sprocket.

Thank you!
I thought that it must be some sort of neutral sensor or so, but I wasn't sure(mainly because I thought if sensor is dead, neutral light will be "dead" too).

So will be this thing a proper replacement?

A simple check: Unplug the wire to the neutral light switch, then turn the ign on. If the light is out, the switch is bad. If the light stays on, the wire is grounded somewhere.

Hope this helps, Dave

Really thanks for smart tips for newbie like me.
I checked it, and it really stays on even after sensor is unplugged. So it looks like I need to find my multimeter : )

Again, thank you guys so much

OKLEP, welcome to the "family"... that's just too cool, how did a 96 S1 find its way to Slovakia!?!..

I've got a real funny story about partying with a couple of dudes and a chick or two from Slovakia at an international Air Show in England.. somewhere.. Man I still tell that story!!!

Thank you Jolly.
I am still a bit shocked that I actually have it. Here in Slovakia people rides only japanese bikes and few italians, so it is literally impossible to buy something else.
I searched for S1 for more than three or four years, I was aware that I have no chance. Few days ago I checked some craigslists as usual and bam, it was right there. I was SO excited, grabbed my phone and hoped that it is still available.
It was, so I had a small trip into Czech republic. And now it is in my garage :-)
Guy bought it in 2008 in England.
I think this one is easily the only S1 in my country.

And yeah, We are party machines, I am pretty sure that it has been crazy night as hell! hah

Uhm, I wanted to say classifieds, not cragslist. My bad
Yeah, we have H&D dealers in here, but I am not sure if newer Buels was sold there.
What about tubers? They was sold only in US? I really have no idea, but I am pretty sure they wasnt sold here in central Europe.
And about Buell. Few years ago I read some naked bikes test. There was Ducati monster s2r 1000, vs Cagiva raptor 1000, vs Buell xb12. And I was like "Buell? Whats that?"
So after a bit of googling I found tubers and then S1... love on the first sight
It looks like friendly place in here
