Looking for info..i.e. heads up on anything I might need to know. Going to look at it tomorrow afternoon. I ran a VIN check on it and it was originally titled in NY and in GA several years ago. The VIN check didn't reveal anything.

Not off hand. The wheels have been changed for sure as well though. It's definitely an early '95. It has the RS style shifter and billet triples.

Thought that shifter looked different. Wondered about the black cases. Anyone aware of any of the 95s w/black cases. The guy said, as far as he knew, the engine was original to the bike. Said he bought it a few years back to make a chopper out of and ran out of time and space to work on it. Thankfully.

How can I tell if the engine matches the frame?

Only way to tell is to check the numbers. The colors don't match any Buell or sportster stock motors, so some parts have definitely been painted or powder coated.

I would take the header wrap off it may be covering something damage

Will the engine number match the VIN?

Ok, have confirmed that the engine number matches the VIN; seller says it appears the PO painted the engine.

Is there a way to check recall data online?

I was hoping to save this bike from the chopping block, but it appears that someone has beat me to it; I got a text from the seller at about 10 last night that he had sold it after I had made plans to go get it this afternoon; I live about 3 hrs away and couldn't get there until after work today.

I will be really disappointed, if the parts start showing up on ebay, as I have a feeling it's going to be parted out or the engine used in a chopper. I was already making plans for new paint, etc. to restore and ride this S2.

I'm bummed; the price was $1500 and seemed to be worth that, lest the eyeball test and ride revealed otherwise.

At $1500 I'd certainly agree. Mine fell in my lap so to speak at $1000, but I paid $2900 for my last one.
