Im having outgasing on my s3t.. Iv had it painted twice and it still is bubbling.. I saw a whille back the proper paint and sealer to use but I cant seem to find it on here.. I work at a company that uses pre preg carbon fiber. If I cant find the paint kit Im just gonna wrape the tank in fiber and make my own cover for it.. Besides thoes covers are way over priced.. I can make one for nothing.. Just my time in it is all I will have..

I've also heard that good results can happen when you allow the new newly painted tank to cure for an extended period...Of course, that's not an option if its your only tank.

But, I bought an extra tank and that's what I intend to do. I expect to get it back from the painter in late April and it won't see gasoline until at least the fall.

the best result I have had so far on an S1 tank was to have it painted by a buddy of mine who used to paint air planes, he used an epoxy primer. then because I got very busy and things sat around for a bit, it was about 3 or 4 months before I mounted it and added fuel...so good starting point, then accidentally probably met the other criteria....LLLOOOONNNGGGG cure time. its been about 4 years ago and no bubbles yet... well one tiny pin sized bubble which is probably attributed to an impurity at that point based on size and the fact that its not spreading.

He painted a red one for me as well, and its been sitting for 4 years curing without out ever having fuel in it....again, not by design, I simply didn't know what color I was going to go with on the bike I was building so I sent him two tanks to pain one black and one red, I ended up using the black one....the red one finally has a home though, its going on my newly purchased S1...possibly.. so its been curing for 4 years!!!
