I drove 350 mi to pick up this beauty. Still has some things to get sorted or I would have ridden it home. Super stoked about it though. I've been waiting for 3 years to get another S2. I haven't named her yet, but that will come soon . The good: T-storm heads SE ignition module custom redone stock seat WesTek billet clip-ons extra tail and fairing saddlebag inners, bracket, and hardware The bad/missing: no T lowers no saddlebag lids no windshield carb needs cleaning WesTek billet 1" bars butchered with 7/8" bar ends and S1/Duc style controls wiring is a mess because of above All in all I am super-stoked, and I got a killer deal because I bought it from a good friend. Black frame S-2! Dead Sexy! Guessing 96 S2T? |

Correct, '96 S2T. Originally had all silver bodywork, but it was busted up so my friend threw in the snap red pieces and black sapphire fairing, which he had as spares. He also gave me the silver tail and fairing, which will need repair work since they are busted up. I've always much preferred the blue-black S2T frame/wheels over the white; my last S2 had the latter. I really like the Snap Red on the dark frame, so I'll be looking for a Snap Red fairing, unless I decide to repaint the set I have now. The fender may or may not stay, as I plan to an XB wheel/fork swap, with dark grey-blue 1125 wheels since they are a very close match to the frame. |

Are the XB forks as long as the Roma's? Will they extend above the top tree to mount S2 clip-ons? Nice grab!! It's really great to see another S2 revival!!! |

Hi David, no the XB forks (at least the '03-04 forks that slide in stock trees) are a bit shorter than the Romas. The way the uppers are tapered requires them to be slid up a couple inches above being flushed with the top tree, which is perfect for S2s. Doing so will de-rake the front end a bit, and, depending on which fender you have, could cause your fender to slap your fairing on big bumps. There are ways to alleviate this, but that's another story for another time of day. G2G right now . |

Thanks! Yeah the red bodywork on the dark frame is one of the main things that really turned me on to this bike. I do think I will be using this red when I repaint it, or I might just get a red fairing as mentioned above, since I'm still thinking hard on a carbon fender.
