Removed my handlebars and Xb upper triple and swapped to an Xb R upper (clip-on) style....

not really digging the look. Riding position doesnt feel to bad though...

whats your thoughts? To me it looks more cafe racer then street fighter.... I like it and i dont.... not sure

You're right, it does look more like a café racer but I actually like how it looks. Does it put a lot more pressure on your wrist?

some but not horrible... my R1 from what i remember put alot more pressure. Havnt ridden this yet though so who knows.

I need to get a much shorter front brake line and then will most likely ride it like this for the beginning of the season and see if i like it... if not ill swap my other setup back.

I like the lines it gives the bike! Much more aggressive.

im in the same boat as you. i like it but for some un known reason i dont as well. if you think it handles better/ more comfortable then keep it. It is impossible for you bike to look bad tho. please take it as a compliment that i am making my short tail build similiar to yours.

Looks ok. I did a similar set up on my X1 years ago. It was great at the track but it really hurt my wrists on long rides. Even with rear sets, I was toast after about 100 miles. It's all what you like and are comfortable with. Just an opinion. Great bike!

Looks had no bearing on my decision to use clip-ons. I was tired of being a sail in the wind and prefer the riding position.

Your bike in my opinion neared perfection. Now, you are crossing the line.

I love the look myself. I'm always looking for easter eggs when I see pics of your bike, for stuff you may have changed or be working on..

Do you also have a seat cowl?
Gives it more a single seater look, as no rear foot pegs are installed

i do not but i have something in the works... ditching this seat for something else that will probably more then likely get a custom seat cowl : )

I love the look, just put Crossroads on my S3 and was surprised how comfortable it actually was.
Looks nowhere near as good as yours though.
As always, great work, keep it up.

I think a Duc fender would look at home on your bike Marc. My $.02 found on the street..

As a Streetfighter it's got to have Renthal style bars. Then the seat is too long, and requires a tail section.

As a cafe racer the headlamp is ugly as hell anyway for either style, but the seat need to be much shorter with again, a suitable tail section, more akin to a racing style seat obviously.

One of the tricks the Brit's do / like, and would show off your subframe well, is to have a short seat with a classic style arch shape to its rear, and leave a good few inches of gap between the end of the seat and the end of the subframe, thus exposing the rear of the subframe from above, rather than the seat / seat unit covering it.

Frankly though, looking at it and where you are with it, I think it's always going to make a better streetfighter than cafe race.

if you dont remember, i have a set or Renthal Fatbars

and im not going for a cafe look... just wanted to try out a different riding position and its giving me a cafe vibe.... i like cafe racers and like to build a KTM cafe sometime in the future but not wanting my X1 to be a cafe.

Bike is always beautiful regardless. I like the fatbars better though. Could just be the clip on's are not black yet too.

They'll look sweet in matching black.

The last picture of the bike looks like a well sorted bike, even with the headlight. If it were mine I'd just leave it like that and ride it. Absolutely love the double-bar design tail section. Count me in if you ever decided to make some more.

Looks gorgeous either way. The Monster fender is the one I was thinking of, by the way.

Yeah that's right like that. Looks loads more integrated with all the oddities to your fine custom work and eye.

The venting on your pulley cover and the lines being parallel to your upper belt guard, with those of your air filter moulding and your shock struts, all following the same line.

You've done a good job on the use of black, and the headlight looks good from that angle.

It's a lovely Buell but don't spoil it with drop bars, lol.
