my S1 seat has bananna'd ... best way i can describe it... the front of it has arched way up in the air, and theirs like a good 2" gap between the bottom and the tank...

likely from sitting out in the sun over the years...

any way to remedy this? i thought about maybe taking a heat gun to the back of it, and applying pressure to bend it back into place.

I have a M2 seat I bought off CL that has some rise in the front. I stored it upside down for a few months and it turned out ok. I would not be against the heat gun method either.

I too have an S1 with a banannad seat. I currently have the seat upside down a shelf with a weight on the back of it. Its only been there for a week but im hoping it will work

I took the covering off one seat which had arched slightly and replaced it with thin leather which gave it a softer feel . The old cover was solid .

Hey Analbeard. I have been thinking of reupholstering my seat.

How easy did you find it to replace the leather. Was it just a case of removing the staples, re-glueing and re-stapling?

Thin leather is needed as I tried it with stuff i thought would take some wear and it just wouldn`t fit right. Took the staples out and used the same length stainless steel ones to replace it , no glue involved. The stapler was a big one and they take some putting in! I think one of my other seats has pop rivets. Pleased with the result and made the feel softer .

I got the leather locally from UK and I think it was goat or kid leather. Will have a rummage through Ebay feedback later. There was enough for two seat covers from one skin.

Don`t know how long it`ll last being that thin , but not worried.

What about the foam? Would that be hard to replace? I have a memory foam pillow I dont use, would feel great under my nuts on the bike

Your head weighs less than your ass so it may compress too much. I found riding with no seat cover at all quite comfortable, the thick vinyl cover is what`s the problem. You can find gel inserts online for letting into foam, anyone tried that.
